Updates
Industry
Israel's services exports fell in July 2026, according to seasonally adjusted data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Excluding start-ups, exports dropped 4.7% to about $8.4 billion, after rising 6.4% in June.
Start-ups
Start-up companies exported about $173 million in services during the month.
High-tech leads the decline
High-tech services exports fell 5% from June to about $6.1 billion, after a 5.2% increase the month before. High-tech makes up around 81% of business services exports and about 72.6% of all services exports.
Business services
Business services, which include software and IT, research and development, engineering, telecom and royalties, dropped 4.8% to about $7.56 billion, after growing 5.6% in June. They account for about 90% of all services exports.
Transport services
Other transport services, not including passenger transport, fell 13.6% in July, erasing the same 13.6% gain recorded in June.
Tourism and travel
Foreign tourists brought in $268 million, and passenger transport exports came to $33 million.
Why it matters
Services, led by high-tech, are a major source of foreign currency for Israel. Monthly swings like this one can affect the shekel exchange rate, which in turn has a direct effect on the cost of imported goods.
